- Anyone with a grill and a patio is
raring to get started on outdoor summer
cooking fun. Before you invite the gang
over for a feast, use the following
timeline and tips to get prepared so your
party planning will be easy and
smooth.
The weekend before:
- Get
your yard ready by cleaning lawn
furniture, deck and patio. Trim weeds
and mow the lawn.
- Shop
for these essential barbeque
ingredients: ketchup, FRENCH'S mustard,
relish, mayonnaise, chips, soft drinks,
paper plates, plastic cups and
utensils, grilling tools and
briquettes.
- Clean
your grill.
The
day before:
- Buy
meat and other fresh ingredients.
- Prepare
salads and desserts.
Party
day:
- Set
up outdoor games.
- Buy
ice and place in coolers.
- Set
out appetizers and snacks before guests
arrive.
Cleaning
the grill may be your least favorite
barbeque chore. Using an oven cleaner like
EASY-OFF makes grill cleaning easier and
can help you get the job done quicker.
- Wear
long rubber gloves while cleaning your
grill.
- Remove
racks from grills. Place them on
newspaper on a non-wood surface. Remove
any remaining food by brushing the
racks with a stiff brush.
- Hold
the can away from your face and spray
from a distance of 9-12 inches. Allow
the foam to work for at least 20
minutes.
- Wipe
the racks clean with a heavy duty
scrubbing sponge, rinsing frequently.
After drying, wipe again with a clean
sponge.
- To
clean the grill window, apply EASY-OFF
to a wet scrubbing sponge. Wipe the
glass surface vigorously to remove
soil. Avoid contact with the grill
housing.
- Wipe
clean with a wet sponge. After drying,
wipe again with a clean sponge.
- DO
NOT USE EASY-OFF ON GRILL EXTERIOR.
Wash the exterior with mild soap and
water on a scrubbing sponge to remove
white spots caused by oxidation.
- Rinse
well with water.
Since
73% of American households own a grill,
there's a good chance you'll be doing a
