Beef Steak - Potato Scallop

1 lb. Round steak
Flour
3 Tbs. Shortening
3 sm. Onions, thinly sliced
3 Tbs. Flour
1 1/2 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Pepper
2 c Water
3 med. Potatoes, thinly sliced
Dash garlic salt
Salt
Paprika

Heat oven to 350ºF. Cut meat into 1-inch cubes; coat with flour. Melt shortening in skillet, brown meat. Add onion; cook and stir until onion is tender. Pour into greased 2-qt casserole, sprinkle with 3T flour, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, pepper and garlic. Pour water over mixture. Cover, bake 45-60 minutes until meat is tender. Increase oven temp. to 450ºF. Arrange potatoes on meat; sprinkle with salt and paprika. Bake uncovered about 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

**May be cooked on top of stove over low heat. Leave in skillet instead of pouring into casserole dish. Add potatoes to skillet. Cook about 45 minutes or until potatoes are done. Serves 4.
